COUNTER-TREMONTI GELMINI VIEW FROM A RESEARCH FREEDOM
And 'good Researchers stressed that the protest against the DDL "Gelmini" finds its source by the researchers themselves, but perhaps goes beyond corporate aspects, and involves the whole Italian university, all faculty, reflecting on the future of the entire civil society.
The bill, which was approved by the Senate without opposition, it is structured, rather, dictated by strong powers and cross outside the university, which seems to be the spearhead of Confindustria.
The statements made by the Culture Commission Vice-President of Confindustria, the articles published on Il Sole 24 Ore "and all the media campaign mail out in the last month, leaving little doubt on the strategy implemented by its diligence assault against the institution's public university.
The so-called governance, which places on the boards of the universities 30% of "outside experts" carrying "other knowledge", presumably from an Italian business world who, by Cirio to Parmalat scandals, rising to the disregard of safety at work and for the "relocation" as well as the deindustrialization of Italy, has already given ample proof of how to conceive of himself and his social position continues tirelessly to privatize profits and socialize losses. And
'high danger that the Board may, by a stroke, transform individual universities in private foundations, with all that that implies in terms of both employment and freedom of research, both on the transfer of knowledge to students and then in the Territory .
probably the purpose, not so hidden, is to take over the "toy" university in order to make innovation (profits) at no cost, while getting rid of all that cultural ballast deemed unnecessary because non-functional for immediate use For a merchant
this state of things, nothing can rely on academia. None. Even the Senates reduced to mere academic Organ sheet and liaison with the Departments. With the Senators
reduced to servants of the "knowledgeable other." Helpless spectators of the ruin is still unavoidable.
Professors relegated to the role of yes-men in the service of fixers, politicians, perhaps too smart to turn the neighborhood, in a situation resembling the structure of ASL and with the added responsibility of having accepted the
"tenure track", and squalid ambiguous concept, lexical barbarism, in Italian, means insecurity.
The "tenure track", together with the low mass of researchers indefinitely, is one of the keystones of the entire DDL. On one hand, ignores the researcher TI in the actual teaching activities carried out since 1991 which, remember, was delivered with enthusiasm and love, voluntarily, without any legal obligation and without any additional remuneration.
the other is establishing the role of fixed-term researcher who, after six years of operation, or become an associate professor or, simply, is no longer zero.
A reason such a figure is likely to remain for 35 years played the way: I would like to point out that in 35 years it gets if and only if, all times of the 3 +2, the PhD and the start time of the temporary are respected Swiss!
other cases, and much more realistically, the DDL draws a scenario future in which an army of temporary workers without hope, without a life plan, and without the social safety gear, looks out to the middle-aged empty-handed in his hand, nothing accomplished. Everything from start!
I think the faculty in its entirety, in its organic structure, can not let a part of itself can be treated in such a manner. If researchers are treated as gangrene, isolated, put to exhaustion, the early work of demolition will to others. To those who remain.
As long as the fate will be made: the rich will be formed in private schools, even online, where they will be trained to become managers of our Italy; others, the Last, unable, for lack of options, choose a cultural journey, they will suffer on their skin the assumption that if "Knowledge is Power", in turn, "Ignorance is slavery" Who
maliciously, for lack information or simple bad faith, condemns the ongoing protest relegated to secondary importance and aimed at obtaining an operation of law to become associate professors, tell them, if only for economic reasons, such an occurrence would be for a researcher fifties, a real disaster. In fact there is no time to be able to grab the economic improvement "acquired" until after pensionamento!
