Oggi in dodici “confortevoli” campi di concentramento e venticinque insediamenti illegali sopravvivono circa 400.000 profughi, di cui oltre 5000 sprovvisti di qualsiai documento, privi di ogni diritto e speranza, tranne quella di poter un giorno far ritorno in Palestina. Queste sono le motivazioni che hanno mosso la delegazione a compiere questo sopralluogo all’interno dei campi profughi, per verificarne le reali condizioni ed esigenze, parlare con gli abitanti, incontrare le associazioni umanitarie presenti sul territorio e i rappresentanti politici. Il tour inizia nel campo di Mar Elias, il più piccolo ma tra i più vecchi campi profughi di Beirut. La missione si conclude, i cinque componenti della delegazione vanno via con il cuore gonfio di rabbia, per tutto ciò che hanno visto e scoperto, per quei mille incantevoli sguardi e sorrisi che hanno emozionato e accompagnato le loro giornate intense ma indimenticabili. Il lavoro svolto in Libano servirà per organizzare forme di sostegno ai profughi, dal costante invio di aiuti (cibo, farmaci, vestiario, attrezzature ect…) all’elaborazione di progetti da attuare all’interno dei campi. Si farà il possibile per garantire ai profughi palestinesi una dignitosa “sopravvivenza” e sostenere quella speranza che insieme con loro portiamo dentro i nostri cuori… RIPORTARLI A CASA!
